A friend invited me to lunch at Gazoku Sanso, the restaurant in Ichizo Kobayashi's former home.

I got off at Ikeda Station.

It's a big station.

I'd visited the Ikeda Bunko before,

but it was a distant memory.

It was a 10-minute walk, but it was quite a steep hill along the way.

I thought I was early, but it turned out to be just the right time.

The white building on the right is probably the Hakubaikan.

Entrance

At the end of the road, on the right, is the restaurant.

In the room on the left, there were books written by Ichizo Kobayashi lined up.

I'd like to read them.

We sat on the terrace, reserved by a friend.

First, we toasted with champagne.

Food

Each dish was explained in detail, and we ate while thinking about the ingredients, and it was very delicious.

My friend celebrated my solo exhibition.

A special service? He showed me the Baccarat glasses used by Ichizo Kobayashi.

They are said to be about 100 years old.

I was surprised at how light it was.

I felt very happy to see such precious things.

I received a blessing (lol)

I also had a look at the dining room.

After the meal, I visited the Kobayashi Ichizo Memorial Museum.

I looked at it so carefully that I ended up going much longer than planned, and my shopping in Umeda was sped up (lol)

In the memorial museum, in this room, there was a photo exhibit of students from that time chatting with Kobayashi Ichizo.

Next time, I'd like to take more time to look around.

I also wanted to visit the Itsuo Museum, but it was completely impossible!

I left the Nagayamon gate that was in Kobayashi Ichizo's photo and headed for Umeda.

The food was delicious, the conversation with the sommelier was fun, and the document exhibits had interesting anecdotes.

There really wasn't enough time,

but I had a very fulfilling time.

I'd like to visit again if I have the chance.
